Before you can send or receive email through Titan, you need to verify that you own your domain. This is done by adding Titan's MX and TXT records through your domain registrar, then confirming verification in the Titan Email Control Panel. This article is for domain owners or admins setting up Titan for the first time.
Prerequisites
Access to your domain registrar's DNS or domain management settings (or someone who has access, like your web developer).
Admin access to your Titan Email Control Panel.

General set up instructions

| alert-warning | If you are based out of the European Union region then please refer to this article for setting up DNS records. |
Add your MX records
- Log in to your account on your domain registrar's site.
- Navigate to the DNS / Domain Management / DNS Control Panel section of your admin page.
- Find the MX Records / Email Servers / Email Settings option.
- Click Add or Replace to add a new MX record.
- Set the Name / Host field to @ (or leave it blank).
- Set the Value / Points to field to mx1.titan.email.
- Set the Priority field to 10.
- Set the TTL field to 1 hour (3600 seconds).
- Repeat these steps for the second entry in the table below.
| Priority | Host | Points to | TTL |
| 10 | @ | mx1.titan.email | 1 hour/ 3600 seconds |
| 20 | @ | mx2.titan.email | 1 hour/ 3600 seconds |
Add your SPF record
You'll also need to add an SPF record to your domain, using the same DNS settings page as above.
| Record Type | Host | Value | TTL |
| TXT | @ | v=spf1 include:spf.titan.email ~all | 1 hour/ 3600 seconds |
Verify your domain in the Control Panel
- Log in to your Email Control Panel.
- Under Connect Domain to Email and then click on Check again
- Send a test email to confirm everything is working.
Confirmation — what success looks like
Once your MX and SPF records are added and your domain shows as verified in the Control Panel, you're ready to send and receive email through Titan Mail. DNS changes can take up to a few hours to propagate, so if verification doesn't succeed right away, wait a bit and try again.
Troubleshooting
Outlook fails to finish setting up my account
Problem: Outlook shows an error while configuring your Titan email account.
Cause: Some versions of Outlook send a test email during setup to confirm the account works. If your domain isn't verified yet, this test fails.
Fix: Verify your domain in the Titan Email Control Panel first, then try setting up Outlook again.
My domain won't verify
Problem: Clicking Verify Domain doesn't succeed, even after adding the DNS records.
Cause: DNS changes can take time to propagate, sometimes up to a few hours.
Fix: Double check your MX and SPF records match the tables above exactly, then wait a while and try verifying again.
