Titan needs a few records added to your domain's DNS settings so it can verify you own the domain and start delivering email to it. This article walks you through adding those records in Register.com. It's meant for anyone setting up Titan for the first time — no DNS experience required.
Before you start
You'll need access to the Register.com account where your domain is registered (account owner or admin).
Your domain should already be registered with Register.com.
Changes can take anywhere from a few minutes up to 24–48 hours to fully propagate. You don't need to keep the page open while you wait.
| alert-warning | Titan needs you to verify domain ownership and activate email services by adding the MX and TXT records below. Until these are added and verified, your domain won't be able to send or receive email through Titan. |
Add your MX records
MX records (the setting that tells the internet which server should handle email for your domain) point your domain's incoming mail to Titan's servers.
1. Log in to your Register.com account (click here)
2. Scroll down and navigate to Domains, hover your cursor over it and click Manage
3. On the Account Manager page go to Domain and click Manage
4. Scroll down and navigate to Advanced Technical Settings, and click on Edit Mail Exchanger Records
5. Enter the values given below and click Continue:
| Host Name | Priority | Mail Server |
| @ | High | mx1.titan.email |
| Host Name | Priority | Mail Server |
| @ | Medium | mx2.titan.email |
Add your TXT (SPF) record
The TXT record (specifically an SPF record) tells other email providers that Titan is allowed to send email on your domain's behalf. This helps keep your outgoing email out of spam folders.
1. Go back to the Advanced Technical Settings dashboard and click Edit TXT Records (SPF)
2. Enter the values given below and click Continue:
| Host Name | TXT Record |
| @ | v=spf1 include:spf.titan.email ~all |
What success looks like
Once all three records are saved, your Register.com Advanced Technical Settings page will show two MX records (mx1.titan.email with High priority and mx2.titan.email with Medium priority) and one TXT record starting with v=spf1. Titan will verify these automatically — this can take up to 24–48 hours. Once verification completes, your domain status will show as Verified in your Titan admin console, and you'll be able to send and receive email.
Troubleshooting
It's been over 48 hours and my domain still isn't verified.
Cause: DNS changes sometimes take longer to propagate, or one of the values may have a typo.
Fix: Double-check each record against the values above, then wait a bit longer. If it's still not verified after this, contact Titan support.
I'm not sure what to select for the Priority field.
Cause: Register.com uses High/Medium/Low labels instead of numbers, which can be confusing if you've set up MX records elsewhere before.
Fix: Set mx1.titan.email to High and mx2.titan.email to Medium, exactly as shown above.
