MX and TXT records are DNS settings that tell the internet where to deliver your email and prove that you own your domain. This article walks you through adding those records in GoDaddy's DNS settings so your domain works with Titan Mail. This guide is for you if your domain is registered with GoDaddy but you bought your Titan Mail subscription through a different provider.
| alert-warning | If your Titan Email subscription was purchased from GoDaddy , please contact the GoDaddy Support team for DNS setup assistance. |
For domains registered with GoDaddy but Titan Email purchased through another partner(non-GoDaddy), please follow the steps mentioned below.
Before you begin
You'll need:
A domain registered with GoDaddy
A Titan Mail subscription purchased through a partner other than GoDaddy
Login access to the GoDaddy account that manages this domain
Adding these records can take up to 48 hours to fully take effect across the internet. Your existing email won't be affected until the new records are active.
Log in to GoDaddy and open your domain's DNS settings
Go to dcc.godaddy.com/domains and log in to your GoDaddy account.
On the My Products page, find the domain you want to use with Titan Mail.
Next to that domain, click DNS.
You'll see the DNS management page for your domain, with a list of existing DNS records.
Add your MX records
MX (Mail Exchanger) records tell the internet which server should handle email for your domain. Titan uses two MX records, added one at a time.
Add the first MX record
Click Add New Record.
-
Enter the following values:
Type Name Priority Value TTL MX @ 10 mx1.titan.email 1H Click Save.
Add the second MX record
Click Add New Record again.
-
Enter the following values:
Type Name Priority Value TTL MX @ 20 mx2.titan.email 1H Click Save.
Both MX records now appear in your DNS records list — mx1.titan.email at priority 10 and mx2.titan.email at priority 20.
Add your TXT record
This TXT record (called an SPF record) proves to other email providers that Titan is authorized to send email on behalf of your domain, which helps keep your messages out of spam folders.
Click Add New Record.
-
Enter the following values:
Type Name Value TTL TXT @ v=spf1 include:spf.titan.email ~all 1H Click Save.
Confirm your setup
In your GoDaddy DNS records list, you'll now see two MX records (pointing to mx1.titan.email and mx2.titan.email) and one TXT record containing your SPF value.
It can take anywhere from a few minutes up to 48 hours for these changes to spread across the internet. You don't need to do anything else while you wait — once the records are active, your Titan account will show this domain as Verified. Learn more in Domain Verification.
Troubleshooting
My domain still shows as unverified after 48 hours
Problem: Titan still shows your domain as unverified well after saving your records.
Cause: DNS changes are still propagating, or one of the record values was entered incorrectly.
Fix: Double-check the MX and TXT values against this article exactly, then wait the full 48 hours.
GoDaddy won't let me save the MX record
Problem: GoDaddy shows an error when you try to save a new MX record.
Cause: An existing MX record is already using the same Name (usually @) from a previous email provider.
Fix: Delete the old MX record first, then add Titan's two MX records as described above.
I already have a TXT record for SPF
Problem: You have an existing TXT record starting with v=spf1 from another tool (like Google Workspace or a marketing platform).
Cause: A domain can only have one active SPF record. Adding a second one causes email delivery problems for everyone.
Fix: Combine both into a single TXT record by adding include:spf.titan.email inside your existing record, rather than creating a new one.
