What Sharing Does
Sharing lets you create a link to a file or folder in Titan Drive so recipients can access it anytime using the same link.
Shared links always reflect the latest version of the content. This means:
- New files added to a shared folder automatically appear for recipients
- Deleted or renamed files are updated in the shared view
- Updated or replaced files always show the latest version
- You do not need to create a new link after making changes
Use sharing when you want ongoing access to the same content.
Share vs Transfer
Sharing and Transfer are designed for different use cases:
| Feature | Share | Transfer |
|---|---|---|
| Access type | Ongoing access | One-time delivery |
| Updates reflect automatically | Yes | No |
| Recipient sees latest version | Yes | Snapshot only |
| Link behavior | Persistent until expiry or deactivation | Intended for delivery workflow |
| Folder navigation | Supported | Not supported |
| Best for | Collaboration and recurring access | Sending a fixed copy |

Share Files or Folders from Titan Drive
You can create share links directly from Titan Drive using multiple methods.
Open Titan Drive, hover over the file or folder, and click ⋮ → Share. The Share Link dialog will open.
From the quick share action
You can also quickly share items directly from the file actions toolbar.
Select the file or folder and click the Share icon from the toolbar. The Share Link dialog will appear.
The Share Link Dialog
The Share Link dialog lets you manage sharing settings such as copying the link, adding a password, Set/edit link expiry, or reactivating expired links.
By default, the link remains active with expiry set to Never.
Password Protection
You can secure shared files or folders with a password.
Open the Share Link dialog and enter a password. Copy the link and share it with the recipients
Password protection availability may vary depending on your email plan.
Recipients must enter the correct password before accessing the shared content. If an incorrect password is entered, access is denied and an error message is shown. Passwords remain hidden while being entered.
Link Expiry
You can control how long a share link remains active.
- Open the Share Link dialog.
- Click Expiry Settings.
- Choose an expiry option.
Available options include:
- 7,14 and 30 days
- Custom expiry date
- Never expire
Maximum expiry limits may vary depending on your email plan.
Once the expiry date is reached, recipients will no longer be able to access the shared content until the link is reactivated.
By default, Share links in Titan Drive are set to Never Expire.
Reactivate Expired Links
Expired share links can be reactivated from the Share Link settings.
Open Titan Drive, locate the shared file or folder, and open the Share settings.
Click Reactivate Link to restore access to the shared content.
The original share link may continue to work after reactivation. When reactivated. The same shared content becomes available again
By default, reactivated links expire after 30 days unless changed.
Note: Share links that remain inactive for more than 6 months after expiry may be regenerated with a new link for security reasons.
What Recipients See
Recipients can access shared files or folders directly through the shared link.
If the Link is Password Protected
Recipients will first see a password entry page before accessing the shared content.
After entering the correct password, the shared files or folders will open.
Shared Files Page
Depending on what was shared, recipients can:
- Preview supported file types
- Download individual files
- Download all shared files
- Navigate through shared folders
- View updated file versions through the same link
Download Limits for Recipients
Download limits for shared files and Transfers may vary depending on your email plan. Each click on Download or Download All by the recipient counts as one download.
Note: Premium plans support up to 15 downloads per link, while Ultra plans follow Titan Drive’s Fair Usage Policy.
If a download limit is reached, recipients may need to retry later or contact the sender.
Titan Drive also allows you to present shared content using a branded sharing experience.
