IMAP is the setting that lets a mail app keep your inbox in sync across your devices. This article shows you how to add your Titan email account to a third-party mail app on Android using IMAP. It's for anyone who prefers to use their phone's built-in mail app, or another app, instead of the Titan Android app.
| alert-success | If you'd rather skip manual setup, install the Titan Android App instead — it signs in automatically. Use the steps below only if you want to use a different mail app. |
Prerequisites
Check these before you start:
Third-party email access must be turned on for your account, or this setup will fail. Learn how to enable it.
If Two-Factor authentication is turned on, please follow the steps here to setup an application password instead of your normal mailbox password.
Set up IMAP on Android
On your Android device, open Settings.
Tap Accounts.
Tap Add account.
Tap Other (this option lets you add an account manually instead of picking a listed provider).
Enter the email address you want to set up, then continue.
Enter your Titan email password, then continue.
-
When asked for incoming server (IMAP) details, enter the values in the table below.
Field Value Hostname imap0101.titan.email Port 993 Security type SSL -
When asked for outgoing server (SMTP) details, enter the values in the table below.
Field Value Hostname smtp0101.titan.email Port 465 Security type SSL If port 465 doesn't work, use the alternate outgoing settings instead: Port 587, Security type STARTTLS.
-
Tap Save (or Next, depending on your device) to add the account.
Android will check the connection after you save. This can take up to a minute, and you may briefly see a "Verifying" message while it confirms your details.
Confirmation — what success looks like
Your Titan account will appear in Settings > Accounts, and new emails will start showing up in your mail app within a few minutes. You can now send and receive Titan email through IMAP on Android.
Troubleshooting
Account won't verify or you see a sign-in error
- Problem: Android shows a sign-in or verification error right after you tap Save.
- Cause: Third-party access is turned off.
- Fix: Confirm third-party access is enabled, then try again. See the prerequisites above.
Account is added, but no emails appear
- Problem: The account shows up in your mail app, but your inbox stays empty.
- Cause: The incoming (IMAP) hostname, port, or security type was entered incorrectly.
- Fix: Recheck the incoming settings against the table above: imap0101.titan.email, port 993, SSL.
You can receive email but can't send it
- Problem: Emails arrive, but messages you send get stuck or fail.
- Cause: The outgoing (SMTP) settings don't match Titan's values.
- Fix: Recheck the outgoing settings: smtp0101.titan.email, port 465 with SSL, or port 587 with STARTTLS as the alternate.
