Conversation view groups an email and all its replies into a single thread. Message order controls whether the newest message in that thread appears at the top or the bottom. You can set this separately on Titan webmail and the Titan mobile app, so each shows messages in the order that works best for you there.

Choose Your Message Order
You can choose how messages are arranged when you open a conversation:
- Newest on top — the most recent message appears at the top of the conversation.
- Newest on bottom — the oldest message appears at the top and the most recent message appears at the bottom.
By default, messages are displayed with newest on bottom. Changing the message order only changes how messages are displayed — it doesn't change the messages themselves or the order in which they were sent.
See an Example
Suppose a conversation contains these messages:
- Message 1 — 9:00 AM
- Message 2 — 10:00 AM
- Message 3 — 11:00 AM
With Newest on bottom selected, the messages appear as Message 1 → Message 2 → Message 3. With Newest on top selected, they appear as Message 3 → Message 2 → Message 1.
Change the Message Order on Web
- In the top-right corner, click the Settings (gear) icon.
- Click Preferences.
- In the left sidebar, click General.
- Find Message order in conversation view.
- Select Newest on top or Newest on bottom.
Your selected message order applies to conversations on the web client right away.
Understand How the Setting Applies Across Accounts
On web, the message order preference is applied at the client level rather than to a single account.
| alert-warning | If you use multiple accounts on the same web client and select Newest on top, that setting applies to conversations across every account used on that web client — not just the account you were signed in to when you changed it. |
This means you only have to set your preference once to keep the same conversation view across all your accounts on that web client.
Change the Message Order on Mobile
On the Titan mobile app, message order is controlled through the app's General settings.
- Open the Titan mobile app.
- Open Settings.
- Go to General.
- Find conversation order.
- Select Newest on top or Newest on bottom.
Once you change the message order, it applies across every account configured in that mobile app.
Web and Mobile Settings Are Separate
The message order preference is maintained separately on web and mobile. Changes made on the web client will not sync to the mobile app, and changes made on mobile will not sync to the web client.
For example, you can use Newest on top on the web while keeping Newest on bottom on your mobile app.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I choose whether the newest message appears at the top or bottom?
Yes. You can select either Newest on top or Newest on bottom from the message order setting.
Does changing the message order change my emails or messages?
No. It only changes how messages are displayed in the conversation view.
Will my web preference automatically apply to mobile?
No. Web and mobile settings are separate and are not synchronized.
What is the default message order?
By default, messages are displayed with the newest message on the bottom.
What You'll See When You're Done
Once you choose an option, it takes effect immediately — you don't need to save or refresh. On web, your open conversations reorder right away to match your selection, and it carries over to every account on that web client. On mobile, conversations follow the option you selected in the app's General settings, independently of your web preference.
