Titan sets hourly and daily limits on incoming and outgoing email to keep accounts secure and traffic manageable. Your exact limit depends on your plan type and whether you're emailing within your own domain or an external one.
In this article:
| alert-success | "Same domain" means email sent to another mailbox on your own domain. "Different domain" means email sent to an external address. |
Outgoing email limit
Email transfer across same and different domains:
| Scope | Plan Type | Same Domain Rate limit | Different Domain Rate limit |
| Domain | Paid | NA | Combined sending limit of all active mailboxes under the domain* |
| Domain | Free | NA | 1000 emails/hour, 2000 emails/day |
| Mailbox | Starter | 1000 emails/hour, 2000 emails/day |
50 emails/hour, 300 emails/day |
| Mailbox | Pro | 1000 emails/hour, 2000 emails/day |
200 emails/hour, 500 emails/day |
| Mailbox | Premium | 1000 emails/hour, 2000 emails/day |
300 emails/hour, 1000 emails/day |
| Mailbox | Ultra | 1000 emails/hour, 2000 emails/day |
500 emails/hour, 2000 emails/day |
| Mailbox | Pro_Trial | 1000 emails/hour, 2000 emails/day |
50 emails/hour, 100 emails/day |
| Mailbox | Premium_Trial | 1000 emails/hour, 2000 emails/day |
50 emails/hour, 100 emails/day |
| Mailbox | Free | 1000 emails/hour, 2000 emails/day |
50 emails/hour, 100 emails/day |
*Only mailboxes with an Active status count toward domain-level limits. Suspended, inactive, or deleted mailboxes aren't counted.
If your account reaches its outgoing limit, email sending will fail and the email may bounce back with an undelivered message. If you're regularly hitting your limit on a Free or Pro plan, upgrading to a higher plan raises your sending allowance.
| alert-warning | If your domain sends more than 5,000 emails per day, follow the Guidelines for domains sending more than 5000 emails per day to avoid delivery issues. |
Incoming email limit
Email transfer across same and different domains:
| Scope | Plan Type | Rate limit - Same Domain | Rate limit - Different Domain |
| Domain | Paid | NA | NA |
| Domain | Free | 1000 emails/hour, 2000 emails/day |
1000 emails/hour, 2000 emails/day |
| Mailbox | Paid/Free | 1000 emails/hour | 500 emails/hour |
| alert-warning | If your account reaches its incoming limits, your account will be temporarily unreachable to senders until the limit resets. |
Incoming email limit for a non-existing mailbox
A non-existent mailbox is an address that hasn't been created on your domain, but that a sender can still attempt to email.
Titan applies a soft limit of 500 emails/hour and 1000 emails/day to a domain for mail sent to non-existent addresses. Once this limit is reached, the domain stops accepting mail to non-existent addresses — but delivery to your real mailboxes is unaffected unless those mailboxes' own limits are reached separately.
Quick answer
Most plans allow 1000 emails/hour within your own domain. Sending limits to external addresses scale with your plan — from 50/hour on Free and Starter up to 500/hour on Ultra. If you consistently need to send more, an upgrade is the fastest fix.
