Titan checks your domain's DKIM record (a DNS setting that proves your emails are genuinely sent by you and not a spoofed sender) before it sends mail on your behalf. If this record is missing or unset, Titan blocks outgoing mail and shows a warning banner in Titan Webmail. This article walks you through reconfiguring your DKIM record so you can send emails again.
| alert-success | If your DKIM record is missing or unset, you'll see this banner in Titan Webmail: "Action Required: Your custom DKIM records are either unset or removed. To continue sending emails, please reconfigure your DKIM records." |
Prerequisites
- Admin access to your Titan Email Control Panel
- Access to your domain provider's account (for example, GoDaddy, Crazy Domains, or Cloudflare) to edit DNS records
Update your DKIM record
- Log in to your domain provider's account, then go to the DNS settings section.
- In your Titan Email Control Panel, open your DKIM record and copy its Host and Value fields.
- In your domain provider's DNS settings, find your existing DKIM record. It's usually listed as a TXT record with "domainkey" in its name.
- Paste the Host and Value you copied from Titan into this DNS record, then save it.
| alert-warning | If your domain provider doesn't let you edit an existing DKIM record, delete it before adding the new one. Deleting the record temporarily stops Titan from authenticating your outgoing emails until the new record is verified, so add the replacement record as soon as possible. For full steps on generating a new key, see Set up DKIM Record. |
DNS changes can take up to 24–48 hours to propagate across the internet, so Titan may not detect your update right away.
Verify your DKIM record in Titan
- In your Titan Email Control Panel, go to your DKIM record settings.
- Click Verify next to your DKIM record.
The status will update to Verified once Titan confirms your DNS record matches.
Confirmation
Once verification succeeds, your DKIM record status shows Verified in your Titan Email Control Panel, and the warning banner disappears from Titan Webmail. You can now send emails from your domain again.
Troubleshooting
Problem: You can't edit your existing DKIM record with your domain provider.
Cause: Some domain providers don't allow you to change the value of an existing DNS record.
Fix: Delete the existing record, then follow Set up DKIM Record to generate a new key in your Titan Email Control Panel and add it as a new DNS record.
Problem: The warning banner is still showing after you've updated your DKIM record.
Cause: DNS changes can take up to 24–48 hours to propagate, so Titan may not have detected your update yet. Fix: Wait 24–48 hours, then return to your Titan Email Control Panel and click Verify again.
Problem: Your DKIM record shows as Verified, but you still can't send emails.
Cause: There's a separate issue unrelated to DKIM, such as a restriction on your account.
Fix: See Why can't I send or receive emails for other causes and fixes.
