DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) helps prove that emails sent from your business domain are genuine and haven't been altered during delivery. Adding a DKIM record improves email authentication and helps reduce the chances of your emails being marked as spam.
This guide shows you how to add the required DKIM record if your domain's DNS is managed through Hostinger.
Get your DKIM values
- Log in into the Hostinger Control Panel.
- In the left navigation menu of the Hostinger Control Panel, click Emails.
- Under the Emails section, find the domain you want to configure, then click Mailboxes next to it.
- On the overview page, click Improve Email Reputation in the notification banner. OR click the Email Reputation panel below.
- Click on the ADD button to generate a custom DKIM record for your domain, which would then create your custom DKIM key.
- Scroll down, then copy the DNS Host Name and TXT Record Value.
What you’ll see: Two values — a DNS Host Name and a TXT Record Value. Keep this tab open; you’ll come back to this same Email Reputation panel to verify, once the record’s been added to your DNS.
Add your DKIM record in Hostinger
This works the same way whether your domain is registered with Hostinger or is an external domain using Hostinger’s nameservers.
The following steps will help you in creating and adding a custom DKIM record for your domain via the Hostinger Control Panel:
- Log in into the Hostinger Control Panel.
- Open the Domain option present on the left Menu in a new browser tab.
- Click on DNS under Domains section
- Select your domain from the list.
- Navigate and Click on the DNS/Nameservers.
- Scroll down and locate an option to Add Record under Manage DNS records section.
- In the Manage DNS records section, select TXT from the Type drop-down menu.
- In the Name field, paste the DNS Host Name.
- In the TXT value field, paste the TXT Record Value
- Leave the TTL field unchanged
- Click Add Record to save the TXT record.
- Once TXT record is added, go back to the first tab (Email Reputation panel) & click on the option of I've added TXT records in my DNS control panel and click on the Verify DKIM Record button.
That's it! Your domain's DKIM record is set now. It may take up to 12-24 hours for these changes to propagate across the internet.
Troubleshooting
Problem: You can’t find your domain under Domains.
Cause: It may be listed under External domains rather than the main list, or its nameservers may not
be pointed to Hostinger yet.
Fix: Check both sections in Domain portfolio, or use Domains > DNS to search across all your domains
at once. If it’s not there either, your domain’s nameservers likely aren’t pointed to Hostinger — this article
won’t apply until that’s done.
Problem: Verify DKIM Record doesn’t succeed.
Cause: The record hasn’t propagated yet, or a value was mistyped copying between tabs.
Fix: Double-check the copied values match exactly, then wait and try again
